NNWL.net forum guidelines
The NNWL.net Community is provided as a service to the local community, to help exchange ideas, information, and discuss things that are related to our community. These Participation Guidelines are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using this forum.
- Stay on topic -For everyone's benefit please stay on topic. This forum is provided for the specific purpose of making it possible for participants to exchange information and discuss local topics of interest. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the discussion of issues concerning the Northern Neck .
Periodically review materials that you have previously posted to ensure that the information is still accurate. This step is required even though the system will also automatically prune old posts as needed to enable the highest level of speed and responsiveness from our servers.

- Keep it courteous -Everyone wants to have a positive experience while visiting the Northern Neck Waterfront Locator forum - please make sure that you are not detracting from any other participant's experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, ethnically, racially, religiously or sexually offensive, or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties.Your opinions are always welcome, but a personal attack or harassment ("flaming") is prohibited.Please remember that other community members can't see your facial expressions or hear the tone of your voice. It's easy for comments intended as harmless jokes to be mistaken for harsh, intentional criticism. While we strongly encourage open debates/discussions, we want to make sure that they take place in a climate of mutual respect.

- Protect your privacy -Please do not post any personally identifying information, whether your own or that of another person or entity. Posting your own phone number, address and any other personally identifying information is prohibited. Also, if any community member asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.

- Keep it spam-free -The NNWL.net Community is made available as a benefit to people who are interested in the Northern Neck, and is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. For forum posts, please do not post links to third-party sites if they are not relevant to the topics being discussed. Please do not post third party logos, and refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.

- Keep it legal -It is unacceptable to post any material (i) that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, (ii) that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or (iii) that is deemed to be illegal by any local, state, federal, or international law.
